Community life requires a combination of love, trust, patience, and a delicate balance of tolerance and compromise.  To refuse absolutely to compromise is to risk tearing apart the very fabric of the community one is in.  The total no compromise individual soon discovers that relationships are frequently irreparably damaged in the face of this unyielding posture. 

God Himself, though all-knowing, eternally perfect and infinitely self-sufficient, has deemed compromise to be a vital element of His dealings with us.  The unfailing love of the lord never ends! By His mercies we have been kept from complete destruction.  Lamentations 3:22 NLT  And in His truly infinite wisdom and impeccable planning, He is having us reqresent His Kingdom interests during our pilgrimage here.  So, how do we, with the realities of our humanity all too obvious, navigate the in it but not of it dilemma?
